What I Do

Water Treatment
Coagulation, flocculation, sedimentation, filtration, and disinfection: the fundamentals of safe drinking water. I help agencies and operators troubleshoot process upsets, optimize chemical dosing, and keep clearwell and distribution operations within compliance.
Water Quality
Water quality is where chemistry meets public health. I provide monitoring program design, sampling protocol review, and root-cause analysis for water quality complaints and exceedances, grounded in operational experience and current drinking water regulations.
Wastewater Treatment
From activated sludge and clarification to nutrient removal and biosolids handling, I support wastewater operations with process troubleshooting, operator training, and capacity or permit-compliance reviews for public and private systems.
Advanced Water Treatment
As water systems face emerging contaminants, drought, and stricter discharge limits, advanced treatment, including membrane filtration, reverse osmosis, UV and advanced oxidation, and potable reuse, is becoming essential. I help agencies evaluate, design, and operate these next-generation processes with confidence.
Equity & Environmental Justice
Safe water is a right, not a privilege.
Too many underrepresented, rural, and low-income communities still live with aging infrastructure, contaminated sources, and water they can't trust. Environmental justice is at the center of how I work: making sure the communities most burdened by pollution and underinvestment get the same technical rigor and attention as any large utility.

About JPD Water Consulting
Four and a half decades in water, still hands-on.
JPD Water Consulting is led by Jeffry Dennis, who brings more than 45 years of combined experience in water industry operations and education to every engagement.
Jeffry holds a Master of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Southern California and is a certified T5 Water Treatment Operator, California's highest treatment operator grade, reflecting deep technical command of complex treatment processes.
That foundation is paired with decades spent teaching the next generation of water professionals, an approach that shows up in every engagement as clear, practical explanations rather than jargon-heavy reports.
Jeffry believes every community deserves safe, affordable drinking water, and he brings a strong environmental justice perspective to his work, with particular attention to underrepresented communities that have historically been left behind.
